An empty shop is not always a bad thing.  This week involved some major updates for both the cars in the shop.  Brian’s BMW had some cooling issues that have been resolved, and my MGB is to the paint booth for its primer coat.

First order of business was to load up the car into the badass rig I’ve got together.  Modified Dodge Diesel 2500 and an enclosed trailer.  Amazing how easy transportation goes with the proper equipment!

Once Nick and I rolled the B into the booth we had to begin the long and tedious process of masking and prepping for paint. The car has been stripped to bare metal and set up for paint.  Again the right tools make the job easy and a big thanks goes to Nick for helping out.  This was the “before” shot.

The primer used was Z-Chrome Rust Defender.  This is a polyester based primer, that seals and protects the car from rust as well as providing an excellent base for the final color.  The rust defender coats very well, as shown by the photos below.

Again, thanks to Nick for the help! It’s well on its way to being a complete car.
