Been a while since anyone has had a chance to update. There has been quite a lot of work going on not just with myself, but with the whole team! I will be updating my Supra build this evening. Make sure to click more, to read the rest of the update!

As you can see with the starting photo It’s a home made valve tool. I built this with a single piece of aluminized-steel stock. There is a hole drilled in the narrow end to allow the retainer to be place in. The nail was to make sure the retainer didn’t pop out, haha. Thanks to Jason and Myself we were able to get it together after only a few hours! This was made after an attempt, that failed a few days earlier. Note: Thanks, Angela for your help!

Here we have the head unassembled still, but with the retainer in! To hold the valve up I used some cotton rope shoved in the cylinder then brought the cylinder up. Seemed to work just fine, until the rope knotted on removal. Wrapping the rope around my engine hoist and lifting seemed to work well enough. Although it did lift the whole engine for a moment.

Assembled.

Nothing too special. Installed both the intake and exhaust cams, Cam Gears, Lower timing cover,  Crank pulley (which I just realized needs tightened still, haha), Timing Belt. Took me two tries to get the timing marks aligned properly. In true TPR style I used a C-Clamp to compress my timing melt tensioner, haha.

Spec Stage 3 Clutch.

Spec Stage 3 Clutch.

I also acquired a nice little upgrade through a downgrade trade, haha. Quick Story: Friend with a 1jz sc300 was going bigger power and needed my R154 which needs a clutch and resurfaced flywheel. I am staying stock power this season. So I received his W58 with spec stage 3 clutch, and he did some tire mounting for me. /Quick Story Installed nicely has 4 drift events on it, TONS of meat left on the pads, it’s a 6puck for those not familiar with the Spec Stage 3. Did not have an alignment tool hence the screwdriver sitting in the lower portion of the photo. The knob on the handle was perfect for alignment!

Bolted up the Transmission, Used 2 longer/thinner bolts and nuts to pull it onto the engine, went on fairly nicely.  The shifter housing/shifter is from an sc300 which in my next update in the next day or so you will see how that fits in the supra.

Thanks for Reading and Stay Tuned for other updates, both from myself and other team members!
